It is most likely to be...

A Common Frog

  • Look out for:

  • Dark mask behind the eye

  • Stripy legs

  • Jumping

  • Spawn in clumps

If what you have seen does not match this description you may have seen one of the non-native Green Frog species (Marsh Frog, Edible Frog or Pool Frog) that live wild in the UK - they tend to be larger than common frogs, lack the dark mask behind the eye and often have a yellow/green stripe down the back.  Please get in touch if you think you have seen an exotic species.
