All
wildlife species are important, and unfortunately many of them
need help from us. Despite many people loving them, amphibians
and reptiles do tend to be among the more forgotten
about creatures in terms of popularity, funding and conservation
efforts.
Froglife is dedicated to raising the profile of these
fascinating and magical animals and fighting for their
protection.
- frogs, toads and newts - are amazing little animals
that start life as eggs in the water and metamorphosise into
adults that can survive on land. - snakes and lizards - are
secretive and scaly creatures, getting their energy from basking
in the sun. Both amphibians and reptiles hide away over winter
and start to re-emerge in spring.
You can find out more about the thirteen different species of
amphibians and reptiles that you could find in the UK on these
pages. Some of them could be spotted in your garden or local
park, and some of them much more rare.
