Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Amphibian and Reptile Group |
|---|---|
We want your records! Much of the conservation work that Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Amphibian and Reptile Group will do is reliant on your local records. Even memories of past sightings of amphibians and reptiles are enough for CPARG to create detailed maps (see right) of where species are/were present. Records lead to habitat surveys, which can then, in some cases, lead to site protection should a site become threatened. At present it is unknown how Peterborough and Cambridgeshire compares with other areas of the UK for amphibian and reptile species. It may be that we are an important county for some species, for others it might be a county where populations are declining and need protection - this is why records are so important... Please forward any local records of amphibian and reptile species you may have (preferably with information on time and location) to: Howard Hillier, via cparg@hotmail.co.uk
