Unfortunately, Froglife doesn’t have the capacity to answer
every enquiry but we will do our best to help you find the
information you are looking for. Our website contains a lot of
information which may well answer your question.
There is information below on who to get in touch with for
different sorts of queries.
We have a great deal of information on common problems and
issues in our
Frequently Asked Questions. Most popular queries...
I’ve got
too much frogspawn or
too many frogs in my pond.
I’m filling in my pond.
Identifying native snakes.
I’ve found a lot of dead frogs after winter.
If you have an injured amphibian or reptile in your garden,
please contact the
RSPCA,
a
local vet or
wildlife hospital as Froglife is unable to help with
individual injured animals.
If you need help identifying an animal, have a look at the ID
tips on our
animal pages, or post a picture of it on our
Facebook page and we or one of our team of experts should be
able to help. If you have found a non-native species, please get
in touch with the
RSPCA
or your local exotic pet rescue centre (try searching the web).
We are working with the Institute of Zoology to try and find out
more about diseases affecting amphibians. If you have found a
large number of sick amphibians in your garden during the summer
(the only time with diseases are likely to be active), you can
find out more
here. If you find dead amphibians at other times of year
there is likely to be another cause - please see the
FAQs.
Please let
us know if you feel that the local population has been
affected by disease.
If you are looking for pond advice, our
Just Add Water
booklet is packed with ideas - all the information is
available to online or to download. There is also lots of advice
on habitat management in the
Great Crested
Newt Conservation Handbook, in our
amphibian-
and reptile-friendly gardening section or in our
Urban Tails
publication.
Froglife maps toad crossing sites and can help Toad Patrols with
insurance, patrol materials and data management. Find

with Lucy Benyon on 01733 558844 or
