Greenwich Peninsula Ecology Park

The London team visited Greenwich Peninsula Ecology Park, a 4-acre wetland site just a stone’s throw away from the London landmark The O2. The whole event was part of the ecology park’s summer activities schedule, giving the local children a chance to get outdoors and enjoy nature whilst on their summer holidays. There was a great turn-out of 78 people despite the overcast skies and brief rain showers!

The team had three activities for families to take part in at this event, including a ‘paint a frog’ table, interactive adventure trail hidden around the park and two hour-long pond dipping sessions, in their outer lake.

The two pond dipping sessions were VERY successful, with the children netting water scorpions, saucer bugs, diving beetles, fish and even newts and their efts! It was a great opportunity for them to get up close and personal with these great animals and learn what’s hidden away in the murky water!
