Dragon Finder

Lennard Road Allotments

Twelve allotment holders attended the workshop including two young families. We were lucky with the weather, as it stayed warm and dry and by the end everyone could tell their frog from their toad, their slow worm from their grass snake and how to create the ideal conditions for them. We finished the two-hour session with a tour of the allotment site and found five small wildlife ponds and a larger communal wildlife pond which had become very overgrown but had retained water. Advice and tips were offered for its management and we also found a number of froglets around the site.
