Froglife's Green Pathways scheme was launched in Peterborough in
2008. The aim was to work with a range of young people on
conservation projects that benefit amphibians and reptiles in
urban areas.
Green Pathways introduces young people – most of whom
have no previous interest in the natural world – to reptile
and amphibian conservation; they're offered skills,
qualifications, and training in an outdoor education setting.
To date, the Green Pathways Scheme has reached nearly 2000 young people
within the Peterborough area – involving 24 partner schools and
community groups. Froglife is looking to bring Green
Pathways to other urban areas, including Glasgow and London.
