The London Living Water Project created and restored prime
wildlife habitats in gardens and parks throughout selected
London boroughs, using networks of volunteers to focus on
rejuvenating the Capital's disappearing ponds.
Launched in May 2008, and running for three years, this unique
project also helped raise awareness of London's Standing Water Habitats in
parks and gardens.
Created 23 ponds.
Restored 18 ponds.
Engaged 1,500 people in
activities.
Trained 1,260 people in new
skills.
Made 23 'pond doctor' visits to
provide advice.
Hosted 33 events.
Carried out 102 site visits.
Undertook 16 amphibian surveys.
Held 19 pond management and
planting days.
Improved 31 terrestrial habitats.
