Wetlands Day 2008: Froglife
is fresh back from the World Wetlands Day conference in London, where we discussed wetland policy and how this is influenced and
implemented.
Effective wetlands
conservation is a key policy area for Froglife in 2008: this year we’re
leading on the London Standing Water Habitat Action Plan (HAP), putting
together a strategy that will work with a partnership of organisations
that includes London Wildlife Trust, British Waterways and Thames Water -
a partnership that should see amphibians thrive in Greater London,
alongside other wildlife like Water Voles and Kingfishers. (30/01/08)
Interest in amphibians takes root thanks to Froglife
project: Froglife’s
latest project has underlined that amphibians –as well as being key
parts of foodchains and indicators of the health of the wider world- are
also pretty important to young people too. Find

Froglife
signs up to 'Year of the Frog': Froglife
has become the latest charity to sign up to the global Year of the Frog
2008 campaign, led by
Amphibian
Ark.
The main goal of the campaign is to generate public awareness and
understanding of the amphibian extinction crisis occurring globally.
