Froglife: working with schools

Education is recognised as one of the most important tools in the long-term conservation of wildlife in the UK and internationally.

Froglife has a long history of working with the education sector. Our staff engage with every level of the education system, from children and teachers in schools to the universities and higher-learning institutes.

Our current projects working with schools include:

  • Ponds for Life: a project looking at ways to implement Froglife's Outdoor Classroom approach, encouraging field trips that incorporate amphibian and reptile conservation. More...

  • London Living Water Project: a project working to revitalise and promote use of London's public-access ponds. More...

Froglife can offer schools the following services:

  • Resources: Froglife can offer advice, training, visits and resources to teachers interested in incorporating amphibians and reptiles into their KS1 and KS2 syllabuses.*

  • Educational visits: Froglife can offer an educational visit to help children gain inspiration and confidence about the natural world and conservation. *

  • 'Green up your grounds: Froglife can also offer advice on greening up your school grounds for frogs, toads, newts and other wildlife.

  • Outdoor Classroom: Froglife can offer support to teachers interested in putting together fieldtrips that incorporate amphibians and reptiles and their conservation.
