Froglife
actively encourages everyone to take part in the hands-on
conservation of amphibians and reptiles - this can include
raising funds so our work can continue.
Raising
money for Froglife is a great way of supporting the conservation
work we undertake, plus it raises awareness of amphibians and
reptiles and the ongoing threats that they face.
Hold a bring-and-buy sale, raffle, coffee morning or cake sale.
If you’re feeling more ambitious, why not host a fundraising
evening and auction items from local businesses?
Ask for a small donation (e.g. 50p or £1) from everyone at your school /
office in return for not wearing their normal clothes, for
example non-uniform day, ‘wear something green day’ or even
‘dress as your favourite amphibian or reptile’ day!
Organise a hopping frog contest (using plastic or origami
frogs!) at your local fete or turn a sports day into the Dragon
Olympics – with prizes for the longest leap (long jump), the
highest hop (high jump) and the fastest movement without legs
(sack race)!
Individuals or teams can complete local fun-runs, cycles or
swims, or you could organise your own event, such as sponsored
hop or leap-frog. If you're feeling ambitious you could take on
that challenge you've always dreamed about, like climbing a
mountain or doing a parachute jump. Froglife can help by
providing
sponsorship forms and ideas for promoting your activity. You
can also use Virgin Money Giving to collect your sponsorship
money for Froglife online.
Open garden
Whether you've got a wild haven for wildlife or a more formal
green space you can guarantee there will be people interested in
coming to take a look. People love to see what others have done
in their own backyards - for inspiration or just to be nosy! -
and by charging a small entrance fee (or suggested donation) you
can easily raise a few pounds. This could be a regular thing or
a one off event including other gardens in the area.
Remember -
The best fundraising ideas are fun, and tell a really good
story. If people know why you’re so committed to raising money,
they’re much more likely to put their hand in their pocket. If
you're thinking about raising money for Froglife please let us
know, even if your ideas are at a very early stage. We can
provide information and resources that might be useful.
