We have recently extended our successful Leapfrog Schools programme to London, and developed new, curriculum-linked programmes to help schools in the capital connect with nature.
Tadpoles In The Classroom
“The class and I loved taking part in the Tadpoles in the classroom project and working with you.
Your input was well prepared, appropriate and informative. The project was a great starting point for many other activities, including science, art and non-fiction writing.
The outdoor activities supported the school’s improvement plan on Outdoor Learning and we had the satisfaction of seeing all the changes happen and getting to release our froglets!” – Class teacher, Wallacewell Primary School
Cover lots of Science curriculum topics with this engaging six-week programme: KS1 programme includes habitats, survival needs, animals and their structure, seasonal changes and food chains, and KS2 programme includes classification, life cycles, adaptation, food webs and human impacts.
We help your class collect and care for frogspawn, and deliver a different curriculum-linked session each week as you watch the tadpoles develop.
Cost: £380. Includes all equipment, resources, and delivery of six sessions.
Standalone sessions:
We can deliver standalone, curriculum-linked workshops in your school grounds, your classroom or in a local green space (for example, a local pond).
EYFS | Amphibian Tales: explore amphibians through stories |
Y1-Y2 | Survival In The Pond: habitats and survival needs |
Y4 | Slime or Scales: classification |
Y5 | Cycle of Life: life cycles and metamorphosis |
Y6 | From Fish to Frog: evolution |
Y3-Y6 | Homes for Wildlife: how we can help local wildlife |
Cost: £65 for one session, £110 for two sessions in one day, £160 for three sessions in one day.
Pond and habitat creation:
Froglife would like every school to have access to a pond or wildlife area. We have the expertise to create and improve ponds and other habitats in your grounds, helping save frogs, toads and newts and creating an invaluable resource for the children.
We can also help you apply for grants to cover the costs of this habitat work.
