Your sightings

Data on amphibians and reptiles is immensely valuable to conservation. Sightings of amphibians and reptiles can provide supporting information to a number of conservation projects that Froglife coordinate.

  • Frogwatch: If you have frogs, toads or newts in your garden then your data can help us find out more about distributions of widespread amphibians.

  • Frog Mortality Project: Every dead frog matters. This long-running project has recorded information on over 64,000 dead amphibians and has helped to identify new diseases in the UK, all thanks to information provided by the public.

  • Toads on Roads: Have you seen toads crossing a road in spring? Froglife have registered almost 700 toad crossing sites in the UK and the information may provide crucial for understanding amphibian declines.

  • Snakes in the Grass: Seen a Grass Snake in your garden? Froglife need your information to work out what makes a reptile-friendly garden.
