Surveys & Training Days

As part of the practical habitat works there were 176 volunteer days hosted of which people could get outside, make new friends, and learn new skills. This involved a variety of activities including woodland works, pond lining, pond planting and the creation of hibernaculas.

There was also plenty of opportunities for people to get involved in exciting surveys for amphibians and reptiles, and to delve into the fascinating world of amphibians and reptiles. These were usually arranged in order to survey newly created and restored ponds to see which amphibians had moved in.
