Foraging Walk – Coalface to Wildspace

September 7 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm

free

PLEASE BOOK YOUR PLACE ON EVENTBRITE HERE.

Join us for a free Foraging Walk led by expert Alan Bale at Park Lime Pits LNR on Saturday the 7th of September at 2:00pm.

This event is a beginners foraging walk to learn about edible and useful plants with expert guide Alan Bale, as seen on Channel 4’s Alone UK. The walk will last around 1 and a half hours and will be pushchair friendly! On the walk we will be looking at trees, medicinal plants and herbal remedies, edible (or drinkable) plants and recipes, and useful fun plants! We will learn some quirky history or facts, ID features and harmful doppelgangers to watch out for. Along the way we will also take the opportunity to experience the Spectacular new Speaking Sculpture installed within the park.

We will be meeting in the car park to the park before the start of the walk. The car park is at the end of park road, WS9 0LF.

This Foraging Walk is entirely free to attend and open to everyone.

This event forms part of the Speaking Sculptures Celebration Festival series of activities to celebrate nature and wildlife. The sculptures have been created by local people and installed in 8 greenspaces across Walsall as part of the Coalface to Wildspace Midlands project, made possible by The National Lottery Heritage Fund.
