Join the Coalface to Wildspace team and a professional artist from the Juneau Project for a fun community art workshop at the A’aina Community Hub. We will be working together to design, create and decorate 8 “speaking sculptures” that will be installed into public parks across Walsall and provide a lasting legacy. The first two workshops at each venue will focus on the design of the sculptures and the creation of moulds, which the artists will take away to cast into sculptures. Next spring we will be hosting two further workshops where we will decorate these sculptures and create soundscapes inspired by Walsall and its natural heritage to accompany them.
The first workshop is on Thursday the 14th of September from 10:00 to 12:00, and will be followed by a second workshop on the 28th of September at the same time. Ideally participants will attend the full four workshops to experience the full process of creating the sculptures, but if you can’t attend all workshops but still want to join us for one or a few please do!
Please contact Christina at firstname.lastname@example.org or 07494799515 if you would like to learn more or to register for these sessions.
