Join the Coalface to Wildspace team and a professional artist from the Juneau Project for a fun community art workshop at Austin House Community Room. We will be working together to design, create and decorate 8 “speaking sculptures” that will be installed into public parks across Walsall and provide a lasting legacy. The first two workshops at each venue will focus on the design of the sculptures and the creation of moulds, which the artists will take away to cast into sculptures. Next spring we will be hosting two further workshops where we will decorate these sculptures and create soundscapes inspired by Walsall and its natural heritage to accompany them.
The first workshop is on Tuesday the 19th of September from 14:00 to 16:00, and will be followed by a second workshop on the 3rd of October at the same time. Ideally participants will attend the full four workshops to experience the full process of creating the sculptures, but if you can’t attend all workshops but still want to join us for one or a few please do!
Please contact Christina at christina.nijjar@froglife.org or 07494799515 if you would like to learn more or to register for these sessions.
