SUMMARY:Amphibian Walk and Hydrophone Workshop with the London Blue Chain Team
DESCRIPTION:Join Froglife’s London Blue Chain team at Stave Hill Ecological Park in South London as part of the 13th edition of Soundcamp’s Reveil broadcast on Dawn Chorus Day. \nThe team will be leading a guided amphibian and reptile walk\, exploring freshwater habitats and introducing participants to the native species that rely on them. \nAlongside the walk\, hydrophones will be placed in ponds across the site by sound artist Tom Fisher\, offering a separate listening experience where visitors can drop in and tune into the subtle\, often unheard sounds of underwater environments. \nWhether joining the walk or simply stopping by to listen\, this session offers a chance to slow down and connect with urban nature in a different way. The London Blue Chain is a National Lottery Heritage Fund-supported project creating and restoring 100 ponds across South London\, with a strong focus on working with local communities as well as wildlife. \nOpen to all\, the walk will take place on May 2nd\, 2-4pm. \nThe drop-in hydrophone session will be available 2-5pm. \nSign up here.
