Love Parks Week is hosted by Keep Britain Tidy, and serves as an annual chance to spread word of how amazing your local parks are, whether it be urban, rural, big, or small! These lighthearted events allow communities to engage within themselves and with others, appreciating the positive effects that green spaces have on both wildlife and each other.
Parks and green spaces help increase quality of life and general satisfaction, in turn reducing stress levels and improving your physical and mental health. If you can and do not already, a daily walk around your local park will do the world of good. Additionally, the green spaces help facilitate an improvement in air quality, and can house a diverse range of wildlife from beetles to birds.
Follow the hashtag #LoveParks for updates, discussions, and to get involved. It is the best way to see if there is any way you could help contribute to your local community’s efforts, or perhaps be the one to lead the charge yourself! From raffles to picnics to birdwatching, there is no shortage of activities to choose from to get everybody from all walks of life together discussing nature and appreciating the outdoors.
