Dr Victoria Ogily reviewed two interesting papers about amphibian disease:

Paper 1.  Assessing the long-term
impact of Ranavirus infection in wild Common Frog populations by Teacher et al. (2010).

Paper 2.  The paper on the strain of Chytridiomycosis in salamanders by Martel et al. can be found here. 

Rob Williams discussed some of the policies that are relevant to containing the spread of invasive species and diseases that can affect native wildlife.

The Wildlife and Countryside Act is online here.  The act includes information relevant to the release on non-native species into the wild.

Defra’s Check, Clean, Dry initiative is designed to encourage everyone who works in water or enjoys water sports to help prevent the spread of invasive species between water bodies.  There is lots of information about the campaign here.
