Bannockburn High School is located in the village of Bannockburn in Stirling. It is an Eco school encouraging whole-school action on sustainable development education issues. They empower their young people to take action towards an economically, socially and environmentally just world. They encourage closer links between the wider community and the school. An important element of their Eco school approach is biodiversity and their school grounds.
An area within the school grounds was chosen to create a new pond and restore a previous pond, both of which have now been completed and offers great educational benefits. This has been enhanced with a dipping platform and footpath for the school to utilise and learn more about amphibians and aquatic wildlife.
