Autumn means that our common toads are beginning to prepare for the cold months ahead. They are beginning to travel to the sites that they plan to overwinter as the leaves fall across the city. Over two sessions at the start of 2020, the London T.O.A.D team joined Blackfriars Settlement Positive Aging Group in the Elephant and Castle shopping centre. With plans to demolish the shopping centre, members of the group were saddened at the prospect of losing their community hub. They poured their feelings into the mapestry, creating elements that depict the parts of Southwark that they feel closely connected to.
